CAUGHT YOU CARING – Reminder that our  CAUGHT YOU CARING CAMPAIGN will be starting up again this year.  Any student caught performing a kind act to another will have their name put in our Caught You Caring Jar in the office for a chance to win a prize.  Prizes will be drawn every Friday (first draw will be October 7th).

 BAKE SALE – There will be a bake sale TODAY during both lunches to support the Girls RC United U14 Soccer team travelling to Nationals next week.  All items $1.00.


 There are a number of unclaimed LUNCH CANS left in the lobby.   Please claim ASAP!!!

PAINTBALL – Students that have passed in their money and permission slips to the office will be attending paintball tomorrow (Saturday) at Spikes.  Students should be meet there at 8:55am and drives should be at Spikes by 10:45am for pickup.  Students should bring a snack and some water, and wear long pants, a sweater/hood as well as a pair of gloves.  If the event is cancelled due to weather an announcement will be made on 105.5 and Ocean 100.

ROBOTICS CLUB – Any student wanting to help out on building a full scale, screen accurate, remote controlled R2D2 is asked to sign up on the sheet on the billboard outside the cafeteria.  This project will happen after school and will start the week after Thanksgiving.  Any questions, see Mr. Casey in room 704.

HOCKEY ACADEMY – Any members that have hockey pools to pass in today should do so as soon as possible to Mr. Cusack.  The winner of the early bird prize will be announced later today.  Thanks.

BAND STUDENTS:  Your personal results for the magazine campaign are posted on the bulletin board in the outer band room.  Find your name, go to the far right of the page and look for the check marks.  If there’s a check in the Rock Paper Scissors column, you are going, same for Ice Cream, Bonus Round 1 and Bonus Round 2 columns.  The number of subscriptions you sold is posted in columns to the left. If there are any errors, please see Mr. Nabuurs.

EAST WILTSHIRE DRIVE AWAY HUNGER – Our food drive is off to a huge success.  So far grade leaders are grade 7 Ms. Galloway with 94 items, grade 8 Ms. St. Coeur 31 and grade 9 Ms. Termeer 49.  Next collection will be next Friday.

WRITING CLUB – All students interested in joining EWS writing club, this year, are welcome to attend our first meeting on Wednesday, October 5th.  We will be meeting in the Library from 3:15 – 4:15.

CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING  –  Reminder that the Cross Country running team will be absent from classes this afternoon. Bus will be leaving school at 12:40 to Brackley Beach. Cost is $3.00.

INTRAMURALS: Dodgeball Derby will begin next week. Sign-up sheets are in each homeroom class and the deadline to sign-up is today.

FIELD HOCKEY: The girls defeated Queen Charlotte 3-0 yesterday. Maddison Thompson earned her 4th shutout. Great effort by all players with Claire Pickens, Makayla Vos and Maria McLane scoring the goals. There is no practice today. Girls practice at EWS from 3:30 to 5:15 on Monday.

UPEI 3-ON-3 PLAY WITH A PANTHER DAY: This Saturday, October 1st at UPEI. Students have a chance to play with Panther vasity players in Soccer, Field Hockey, Volleyball, and Hockey. There is an information sheet posted in the lobby, or for more information go to or call 902.566.0368.

THE HOLLAND COLLEGE HURRICANES DANCE TEAM would like you to “Save the Date” for their first ever Junior & Senior High School Dance Competition. Please relay to your students that have an interest in dance – Saturday, December 3rd – There will be an open competition for school-based teams to perform & compete in front of their parents & peers.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL TEAM – Meet with Mrs. Butler at break in the cafeteria extension.

BOYS SOCCER – Play at Stonepark today.  Players are asked to meet the taxi at the grade 7 doors at 3:15pm.  Boys are still looking for their first win.  All the games have been very close!!!!

RECREATIONAL VOLLEYBALL – Kim Gallant will be here today for volleyball at 3:00pm.

CAFETERIA – Mashed potato chicken and corn bowl with gravy on top $5.25
