 INCOMING GRADE 7 STUDENTS  ORIENTATION DAY – FRIDAY, JUNE 2NDNO SCHOOL FOR OUR PRESENT GRADE 7 STUDENTS

 PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB ON THE SOCCER NETS AT ANYTIME – THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!!

 REMINDER TO STUDENTS WHEN LEAVING SCHOOL PROPERTY –  THERE IS CONSTRUCTION AT THE CORNER – PLEASE STAY ON THE SIDEWALKS AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE FLAG PERSON.

 SEMI DANCE , Thursday, June 8th –  This is the GRADE 9 SEMI (grade 8 students may attend).  Grade 7’s attending with grade 9’s and people from outside the school are asked to leave at 8:00pm. JUST TO CLARIFY, GRADE 7’S CAN ONLY ATTEND THE SEMI WITH GRADE 9 STUDENTS.  GRADE 9 STUDENTS CAN BRING SOMEONE FROM OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL – THESE STUDENTS MUST BE SIGNED IN ON THE LIST AT THE OFFICE PRIOR TO SEMI.  Pictures begin at 6:00 – 7:00pm (pictures will be outside weather permitting).  The dance starts at 7:00pm.

GRADE 9 YEAREND FIELD TRIP TO MAGIC MOUNTAIN  Wednesday, June 21st – Permission forms will be sent home this week.  Payment of $40.00 is due by Monday, June 19th

PAINTBALL – Any students interested in Paintball on Saturday, June 10th,  permission forms and payment must be returned by Friday, June 2nd.

 ATHLETICS:

EXTRAVAGANZA – Monday, June 12th at EWS in the evening.

A reminder that Athletic Fees are officially overdue. Flag football, softball, and baseball are all $10.00 track and field is $5.00.  These charges cover officials only for team sports and bussing to UPEI for the track and field team.

The girls AA flag football team lost their game yesterday 24 – 19 to Montague.  TDs were scored by Kali Smith and Louissa MacMurrer.  Thank you to Carly Thompson and Sarah Peters for coming up to help us out.

Be ready to practice next week girls in preparation for playoffs on Monday and Friday.

The AA Boy’s flag football team defeated Souris last evening 33-12.

Congrats to our flag football teams.  The AA Girls and  A Girls finished first in their leagues, The AA Boys were in a three-way tie for first (ended up third because of tie-breaker rules), and the A boys team finished 2nd.

4:30 A Girls play the lowest seed left (because we finished first!)

3:40 – AA Boys flag football vs. 6th place team

4:00 – Girl’s softball 3rd vs. 2nd playoff game

4:30 –  AA Boys flag football (if they win) vs. 2nd place team (Montague)

Last Saturday’s baseball games will be made up as soon as we can schedule them.

OAK ACRES CHILDREN’S CAMP is looking for Counsellors-in-Training for this upcoming summer 2017. Counsellors-in-Training (CITs) are students aged 14-16 who help supervise, plan events, and lead activities for campers between the ages of 7 and 12, depending on the session. This position is ideal for anyone with an interest in the outdoors, leadership, and creativity.

This is a volunteer position, and if the student is offered the position they will be asked to volunteer for 1 month (three sessions in either July or August) and will be able to go home in between sessions. These volunteer hours can be used for the Community Service Bursary, and by completing the position a student will accumulate enough hours to receive the full $500 at graduation. Any questions, applications, or resumes can be sent to hhardwick@upei.ca.
