The band magazine campaign will continue for one more week. Our final collection day is next Tuesday. Currently we have sold a little under $10,000 worth of magazines which means about $3000 profit for the band. We’re hoping to make $10,000 profit so we have a long way to go yet. If you need more subscription forms or catalogues, see Mr. Nabuurs today.
Reminder for Peer Helpers – Please pass in your permission form for Canoe Cove.
Separation/Divorce Group – Any student wanting support/assistance in dealing with parents separating/divorce are welcome to join. The group will begin next Wednesday, September 27th from 2:00-3:00pm for 12 weeks. Please see Ms. Doyle-Hogan or Mr. Mitchell ASAP. Thanks.
Mrs. McKinley Curran’s class is organizing the annual “Drive Away Hunger” food drive and it is starting today. We are asking students, if possible, to try to donate one food item. All food donated will go to help out the Charlottetown food bank. The class that collects the most food in each grade level will win a prize! Last year we collected 1135 lbs of food to donate. GET COLLECTING!
Yearbook – Thank you to all the students who passed in an application. We will be reading them over the next few days. The successful candidates will be announced on Tuesday, September 26th.
Bake Sale! Come support the U13 RC United Girls Soccer Team going to Newfoundland by coming to their bake sale on Friday late lunch. Everything $1.00 or less!
The New Card Gamers Club – Will meet in the cafeteria extension at lunch on days 5 & 6.
Girls Basketball – Everyone welcome!!!! Girls Basketball will be held this Saturday only this week from 10:00am – 12:00. If you have your own basketball, please bring it with you. This is not a school team.
FIELD HOCKEY – The girls capped off their first week with a 2-0 win over Summerside. Goal scorers were Jenaya Ross and Maria McLane, shut out by Madison Thompson. Next practice will be Monday at 3:30. Reminder that Saturday’s game is cancelled.
EWS Terry Fox Run/Walk: This school-wide event is scheduled to take place Friday, September 29th during last period. Staff and students are encouraged to donate “Toonies for Terry” or any donation will be acceptable. Let’s show our EWS Warrior spirit in the fight to cure cancer!

KZ Skating School:
New to the APM Centre, is the KZ Skating School, offering skating lessons in a group format for children age 5 years and up. Two programs will be offered, Learn to Skate and Hockey Skills program. Learn to skate, is for skaters who want to learn to skate, improve their skating skills and advance into the sport of figure skating. Kim Duffy, a national certified coach, will be the lead instructor along with trained skating instructors. The program will focus on fun, participation and basic skill development. All skaters must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet, mitts and skates. Volunteers would be greatly appreciated.
Hockey Skills, is for players who want to improve their ability to play the game of Hockey or Ringette. The Head instructor is Gerry Lanigan, an experienced Hockey coach, who has developed the Hockey/Skills program and will have coaches and players helping him with the on-ice activities. The program will focus on Skill development, game strategies in a fun and positive environment. Full gear is mandatory.
