 TERRY FOX FACTS: On April 12, 1980, Terry dips his artificial leg into the Atlantic Ocean in St. John’s, Nfld to begin his odyssey. He runs an average of 42 kilometres a day (equivalent to a marathon a day) through six provinces.

After 143 days and 5,373 kilometres Terry stopped running outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario; his primary cancer had spread to his lungs. Before returning to BC for treatment Terry said, “I’m gonna do my very best. I’ll fight. I promise I won’t give up.”

 EWS Terry Fox Run/Walk: This school-wide event is scheduled to take place Friday, September 29th during last period. Staff and students are encouraged to donate “Toonies for Terry” or any donation will be acceptable. Let’s show our EWS Warrior spirit in the fight to cure cancer!

  Band students who forgot paper subscriptions home yesterday MUST get them in today please. Students who did not get their prizes for on line subscriptions are asked to see Mr. Nabuurs in the band room at lunch time THURSDAY.  All magazine prizes will be posted by lunch time on Friday.

 Jazz Band students please tell the teacher of the class you are missing today at lunch that you are in jazz band. Do that before the end of break this morning please. You may go to lunch at the beginning of first lunch. Please be in the band room ready to play by 12:00 noon.

 Reminder that student fees are now due.  Please get in your student information packages ASAP!!!!!

 Mrs. McKinley Curran’s class is organizing the annual “Drive Away Hunger” food drive. We are asking students, if possible, to try to donate one food item. All food donated will go to help out the Charlottetown food bank. The class that collects the most food in each grade level will win a prize! Last year we collected 1135 lbs of food to donate. GET COLLECTING!

Peerhelpers – Will be out of school today to attend Leadership training.  Please remember your permission form.

Cross Country – The team trip to Brackley will be this Thursday leaving at 12:30pm.  Cost will be $3.00.

Hockey Academy today for grade 8 & 9 leaving at 1:45pm.  Arrange to have any work you may have missed.

ATHLETICS

 Field Hockey – Players are asked to please dismiss at 2:30 pm and be prepared to take a bus to the turf at 2:40 pm. Good luck to the girls in their game versus Stonepark.

 INTRAMURALS: Free-play Badminton. Sign up to play – you must be changed with indoor sneakers.

 Girls AA Volleyball – Congratulations to the girls on a close win 3-1 over Birchwood. Practice today 4:45-6:30pm both school team and training team.

CAFETERIA – Pasta bake served with caesar salad and garlic breadstick $5.25

3 cheese pizza slice served with caesar salad and ice juice cup $5.00

½ ham and cheddar wrap with side pasta salad $4.50
