 WELCOME TO STUDENT TEACHERS FROM UPEI WHO ARE WITH US THIS WEEK!!

TRANSFER BUSES – Just a reminder to EWS students transferring at Bluefield, please be sure to travel on your assigned transfer bus.

 Girls Basketball – Everyone Welcome!  Will be held this Saturday from 10:00am – 12:00am.  If you have your own basketball , please bring it with you.  This is not a school team.

 Grade 7 Lunch Bunch – Meeting in Room 724 bring your lunch.  If anyone is interested in joining please see Mrs. Dixon.  The first sessions are learning to play guitar.

 Duke of Edinburgh – Sign-up lists are now on Mr. Galaise’s door for duties.  Please be informing one of the leaders of your rooming list groups of 4.  There will be a mandatory bike safety session at 1:30 on Tuesday.  Reminder 7:00pom Bluefield tonight.

 Reminder that student fees are now due. 

 Mrs. McKinley Curran’s class is organizing the annual “Drive Away Hunger” food drive and it is starting today. We are asking students, if possible, to try to donate one food item. All food donated will go to help out the Charlottetown food bank. The class that collects the most food in each grade level will win a prize! Last year we collected 1135 lbs of food to donate. GET COLLECTING!

 Gentle Reminder to all band students, students leaving their instrument on the shelf for a 4 day weekend can expect to lose 4 classmarks, 1 for every day it’s there. If you have a home practice instrument, you should mark that on the outside of your school instrument.

 Today is the last day for Grade 9 Band students to sign up for the PEI Intermediate Honors Band. Remember that if you put your name on the sheet you agree to be available the whole weekend of Jan 26, 27 and 28.  If you have questions, please speak to Mr. Nabuurs.

 Grade 9 Band students interested who wish to play in the PEI Intermediate Honors Band this year need to sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board in the outer band room BEFORE the end of the day, Friday NEXT WEEK. Remember that if you put your name on the sheet you agree to be available the whole weekend of Jan 26, 27 and 28.  If you have questions, please speak to Mr. Nabuurs.

 ATHLETICS

Athletic Fees are past due.  Please make arrangements with Mr. MacAdam to have them paid as soon as possible as we have bills to pay for fall sports.

 GOLF TEAM – A huge congratulations goes out to both East Wiltshire Golf teams who won provincial titles yesterday in Summerside.  Competing for the girls were Individual Girls Champion Sara MacEachern, Hayden Ford, Chelsey Affleck and Bella Galaise.  Representing the boys was Individual Boys Champion Bradley Chisholm, Gavin MacDougall, Myles Grant and Nolan Murray.  Go Warriors Go!

 Boys’ Soccer:

Thursday, Oct. 5 – 3:30 – 5:00 – Practice at the turf. Travel on bus #7 to the turf.

 Field Hockey:

Thursday, Oct. 5 – 3:35 EWS vs. Queen Charlotte – Take bus #171 to the turf.

Girls’ Volleyball:

Thursday, Oct. 5 – 4:00 EWS @ Birchwood.

Boys’ Volleyball:

Thursday, Oct. 5 – 5:30 EWS @ Birchwood.

 INTRAMURALS: Dodgeball Derby begins today! Participants must be changed and wearing sneakers. The purpose of this event is to promote participation, fair play, and school spirit – everyone is invited to take part. Schedule and rules are posted in the lobby. Good luck to all teams!

 FIELD HOCKEY: Yesterday in Montague, the girls were resilient in tough playing conditions and ended with a 0-0 tie. Maddison Thompson had the shut-out. Game action again today: EWS versus Queen Charlotte at the turf. Game time is 3:35 pm. Players, please dismiss no earlier than 2:20 today and be prepared for the bus leaving at 2:40 pm.

 GIRLS BASKETBALL: Holland College is offering a Pre-season “Skills & Drills ID Camp” for female players in grades 7-12. An opportunity to train with and learn from ‘Canes players. Scheduled to take place Saturday, October 21 (9am-12pm & 1-4 pm) and Sunday, October 22nd (10am-1pm). Register by email: canescamp@hollandcollege.com   Cost is $60/player.

Girls AA Volleyball lost a tough match to Stonepark. Best of luck today as girls play Birchwood at 4:00pm.
