 TRANSFER BUSES – Just a reminder to EWS students transferring at Bluefield, please be sure to travel on your assigned transfer bus.

 Girls Basketball – This Saturday 10:00am – 12:00pm. This is not a school team.

 Reminder that student fees are now due. 

 Wednesday, November 1st is Take Your Kid to Work Day.  Please get your forms in and we look forward to a great day.  Any questions, see your Heath teacher.

 Hockey Academy- No Hockey Academy today.  Grade 7 group will begin their sessions at Synergy fitness Next Week on Thursday, October 26th.

Also, the hockey pool is almost up and running.  All entries should be completed within the week.  A huge thank you to all that sold pools and a special congratulations to Evan Andrews for selling 33 hockey pools and winning a $50 gift card. Come see Mr. Cusack to claim your prize Evan!

 Yearbook: Grade nine students that want to have their baby picture in the yearbook this year, can submit a picture to their homeroom teacher or email a picture to ewsyearbook@gmail.com. Please make sure to label the picture with the student’s name and homeroom class. The deadline for pictures is  TODAY.

 Mrs. Cusack’s room will be open during grade 8 & 9 Lunch on Day 5  and during grade 7 & 8 lunch on Day 2 for Games with Peers.  Come choose a game from the shelf and socialize with other students while playing your favorite board game or card game.

 Yearbook Cover Design Competition: The yearbook committee is looking for submissions from students for the cover of the 2017-18 yearbook.  The entry must be submitted on a plain white piece paper ( 8 1/2 x 11). The artwork should demonstrate a connection to EWS. Make sure to include the name of the school and year (2017-2018) in your artwork. The use of colour is strongly encouraged. Please ensure your name and homeroom are written in pencil on the back of the sheet.   The submissions are due by Wednesday, October 25th and are to be passed in to Mrs. Tremere-Phelan in room 904.


 Athletic Fees are past due.  Please make arrangements with Mr. MacAdam to have them paid as soon as possible as we have bills to pay for fall sports.

 Girls’ Soccer:

Monday, Oct. 23 – 4:00 – Play off game at SIS.

Boys’ Soccer:

The boys suffered a loss to Queen Charlotte last evening to be eliminated from the play offs.  Thanks to Mr. LeClair for coaching this fall, your time is much appreciated.

SCREAM PARK VOLUNTEERS: Mark MacDougall will be at the school at lunch again today to pick up forms. Any questions, see Ms. Sanderson.

 INTRAMURALS: Free-play badminton and outdoor equipment. Dodgeball Derby resumes on Monday.

 FIELD HOCKEY: Practice today at the turf. Take Bus #171 at dismissal. 3:30-5:00 pm. 

 GIRLS BASKETBALL: Holland College is offering a Pre-season “Skills & Drills ID Camp” for female players in grades 7-12. An opportunity to train with and learn from ‘Canes players. Scheduled to take place Saturday, October 21 (9am-12pm & 1-4 pm) and Sunday, October 22nd (10am-1pm). Register by email: canescamp@hollandcollege.com   Cost is $60/player.

Bluefield High School will be hosting their annual Christmas Craft Fair, Friday November 3rd  5:30 pm until 9 pm and Saturday, November 4th  10:00 am – 5 pm.  It is located at 924 Colville Road Hampshire. Admission is  $2 and children under 12 are free. There are a variety of vendors featuring hand craft items, baked goods, decorations and more. There will be door prizes, a canteen and musical entertainment  from the Bluefield Band Students.  For more information about reserving your vendor space, please contact Tanya Jackson at BHScraftfairvendors@gmail.com All proceeds support the Schools’ Music Department.
