 GRADE 9 EXTRA MATH HELP HELD UNTIL 4:00PM in room 908 (Mr. Cusack’s Room).

 Bluefield Buses will be parked here tomorrow due to the turnaround day at Bluefield.  Parents/Staff are asked to avoid the lower portion of the parking lot the area will be marked off with pylons.

 BAND STUDENTS:  Please check the list on the bulletin board in the outer band room for your name. If you DON’T find your name it’s because you haven’t paid your band fee yet.  Please bring in $40 cash or cheque made payable to East Wiltshire School Band.  If you have questions please see Mr. Nabuurs

 Jazz Band will rehearse today at lunch, please inform the teacher of the class you will be missing before the end of break this morning… thanks.

Exams scheduled for the am will be written periods 1 & 2.  It is important for students to be on-time in the morning.

Afternoon exam will be written periods 6 & 7.

***Tuesday February 6th is a regular school day except for Immersion Students who write Language Arts.***

In the event of a storm day exams for that day will move to the next day.

When exams are in the am only, there will be classes for the rest of the day for students.

 Parent Information Meetings for the Late French Immersion Program

Late French Immersion parent information meetings will be held at the following locations for parents of Grade 6 students who plan to enrol their children in Grade 7 Late French Immersion in September, 2018:

Below are the dates and storm dates for each of the schools hosting a parent information meeting for the Late French Immersion program. 

Athletics

3:15 – AA Girls Practice

4:00 – AA Boys Practice

 Saturday, January 27th

10:00 – Stonepark at AA girls

11:30 – Stonepark at AA Boys

 Reminder for A teams to turn in their jerseys to Mr. MacAdam

DOWNHILL SKIING CLUB – Will start Wednesday, February 7th from 3:30pm – 8:00pm.  Students must sign up by sending an email to Mr. Galaise (with name and class) ssgalaise@cloud.edu.pe.ca

Students are to take ski bus to Brookvale.This is a chaperoned activity that is not school sanctioned and students are expected to conduct themselves appropriately under the rules and conduct guides of Brookvale. Please make note of the following: *Equipment must be brought to the school that day and stored in the games room (Students responsibility)

*Helmets are mandatory

*Must arrange own transportation home from Brookvale at 8:15pm.

*STUDENTS  MUST SIGN THE SHEET OUTSIDE MR. GALAISE’S CLASSROOM (EACH WEEK)  TO CONFIRM THAT THEY ARE ATTENDING SKI CLUB THAT WEEK, there will be two sheets one for students taking the bus and another for students arriving later ( ie. Students attending after hockey academy).

*Bus will leave at 3:15 from the school and students must register with Mr. Galaise at the side door at Brookvale when they arrive. *Cost is $6.00 for ski pass and $8.00 rental which is valid for 4 hours from the arrival time

 

East Wiltshire’s Got Talent

There will be a sign-up sheet outside the office for anyone interested in showcasing their talent at a show on February 28th (Deadline to signup is at the end of the day Monday, January 29th). The students will have an opportunity to audition and share their special abilities whether it be dancing, singing, playing an instrument, magic, juggling, comedy etc. There will be a free show for the students in the afternoon of the 28th and we will be selling tickets for the evening performance. Also, we will have an art gallery in the lobby for students wishing to display a visual art piece. Proceeds will go to funding outings and events for our resources students as well as the peer helpers fund raising cause. 

 

 

This activity is part of the “Healthy Local Food at East Wiltshire Intermediate School” program, funded by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Community Food Security and Food Education grant.”

 

Bowl for Kids Sake will take place on March 3rd and 4th in Charlottetown, Summerside, Tignish, North Rustico and Souris.  This year’s theme is Halloween and there will be prizes for most money raised, best costume and best team name.  There is a chance to win two tickets anywhere West Jet flies in North America.  This event is our second biggest fundraiser that supports all of our programs.  More information can be found  https://pei.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca/event/bowl-kids-sake

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake 2018

Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday, March 4th.

Variety of tasks include: Greeter, Food Table, and Prize Table.  They are flexible in length and times of volunteer shifts.

Come paint some fun with us! “Silly Valentine Heart”

Youth Paint Classes at York Point Community Center, 355 York Point Rd

Wed Feb 7 6:15-8:30 or Sat Feb 10 10:00-12:30

We provide everything you need to paint and take home an 11×14 canvas in one class. Participants are generally 8-14, but younger painters have joined us with an adult assistant.
