  • Reminder to grade 9’s grad picture orders are due this Thursday, February 15th as there is no school on Friday.

 PURPLE RIBBON CAMPAIGN – . Students and staff are encouraged to wear purple this February 14th to raise awareness about violence and abuse. Purple is a colour associated with suffering but also with power and transformation.  All of society is affected by violence.  We urge women and girls, men and boys to wear a purple ribbon.  Peer Helpers will be distributing ribbons to all students.

 The next Science Fair Club meeting will take place in Mme. Deveau’s homeroom on Wednesday after school from 3:15-4:30-pm.

 Valentine’s Dance – will be held February 15th from 7:00-10:00pm. The entry cost will be $5.00.  Hope to see everyone there!!!!!

 Wrestling Tuesday & Thursday

 Next Home and School meeting will be held Wednesday, February 21st @ 7:00pm in the Library Everyone welcome!

 Crush Soda Fundraiser will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week at both lunches. Play a toonie and have a pop sent to a friend or your crush anonymously.  Student Council please check the Google Classroom as soon as possible to sign up for a shift.

 Mentorship students will be going to Eliot River School on Thursday

 Yoga – Will be held Tuesdays after school 3:15-4:15pm. Everyone welcome!

 Parent Information Meetings for the Late French Immersion Program

Late French Immersion parent information meetings will be held at the following locations for parents of Grade 6 students who plan to enrol their children in Grade 7 Late French Immersion in September, 2018:

Below are the dates and storm dates for each of the schools hosting a parent information meeting for the Late French Immersion program. 

  • Stonepark – February 13th (Storm date February 22nd) 7pm-8pm
  • Queen Charlotte – February 15th (Storm date February 28th) 7pm-8pm
  • Birchwood – February 27th (Storm date March 1st) 7pm-8pm
  • Registration Week is March 5 – March 9, 2018 for the 2018-2019 school year

  WEATHER PERMITTING DOWNHILL SKIING CLUB  Wednesday, February 14th  3:30pm – 8:00pm.  Students must sign up by sending an email to Mr. Galaise (with name and class) ssgalaise@cloud.edu.pe.ca  Students are to take ski bus to Brookvale.This is a chaperoned activity that is not school sanctioned and students are expected to conduct themselves appropriately under the rules and conduct guides of Brookvale. Please make note of the following: *Equipment must be brought to the school that day and stored in the games room (Students responsibility) *Helmets are mandatory *Must arrange own transportation home from Brookvale at 8:15pm. *STUDENTS  MUST SIGN THE SHEET OUTSIDE MR. GALAISE’S CLASSROOM (EACH WEEK)  TO CONFIRM THAT THEY ARE ATTENDING SKI CLUB THAT WEEK, there will be two sheets one for students taking the bus and another for students arriving later ( ie. Students attending after hockey academy). *Bus will leave at 3:15 from the school and students must register with Mr. Galaise at the side door at Brookvale when they arrive. *Cost is $6.00 for ski pass and $8.00 rental which is valid for 4 hours from the arrival time

This activity is part of the “Healthy Local Food at East Wiltshire Intermediate School” program, funded by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Community Food Security and Food Education grant.”

Bowl for Kids Sake will take place on March 3rd and 4th in Charlottetown, Summerside, Tignish, North Rustico and Souris.  This year’s theme is Halloween and there will be prizes for most money raised, best costume and best team name.  There is a chance to win two tickets anywhere West Jet flies in North America.  This event is our second biggest fundraiser that supports all of our programs.  More information can be found  

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake 2018

Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday, March 4th.

Variety of tasks include: Greeter, Food Table, and Prize Table.  They are flexible in length and times of volunteer shifts.
