Friday, September 14, 2018 Day 1

 **Now that the library is up and serviceable, students are asked to ensure that there is no food or drink brought with them into the library. We ask that you are respectful of this space and encourage all students to make good use of their time spent within this area. If there is a book that a student would like the library to order, please write the name and your class on the library book wish list and we will do our best to order the novel for the library collection. This list can be found at the library circulation desk. Any questions with regards to novels, lending of books, or other concerns, students can forward their inquiries to Mrs. Broussard in Room 906!

 Students – Reminder to please have your student fees and student information forms into your homeroom teacher as soon as possible. 

 Yearbook: The applications for yearbook committee are available outside of Ms. Tremere-Phelan’s classroom (9D) . All applications are to be returned to Ms. Tremere-Phelan by Monday, September 17th. The yearbook committee is made up of grade 9 students.

 Duke of Edinburgh – Practice journey for the bike trip, will be held on Tuesday, September 18th  5:30pm – 7:00pm.  Meet in Milton at the bridge parking area with your bikes.  Students should see Mr. Galaise on Monday to sign up.

 ATHLETICS

** Students planning to try out for teams are reminded to have forms filled out and pass them in to coaches at the first practice.

5:00  – Monday & Tuesday Boy’s Baseball at Terry fox Centre Softball Field

 

 EWS Golf Club / Team – The EWS Golf Club is going to be playing a fun round of golf late next week if the weather cooperates.  Students wanting to play will need to get their permission form signed and passed into Mr. Currie (Room 708) or Mrs. Campbell (Room 804) ASAP.  This will also serve as a tryout for the EWS golf team.  Students wanting to tryout will also play at this time and declare they are trying to make the team before teeing off.  This will be the only tryout.

 RODD’S TAEKWONDO

Your child can build their confidence while having fun learning a martial art from qualified black belt instructors. Start the school year with our $100 Introductory special which includes the first month of instruction and a Taekwondo uniform. Beginner classes are on Tuesday and Thursday nights 7:45-8:45 (teens and adults). Town of Cornwall Drop-In Centre – Monday, Wednesday & Friday 2:30-6:00pm, Tuesday & Thursday 2:30-8:00pm.  For information see the website www.cornwallpe.ca or Kara Acorn(youth worker) program@cornwallpe.ca  The centre be open starting next week on Monday.
