 There will be drawing club after school on Wednesday and this will be the final class but in one interested in a 4 week painting class beginning the following Wednesday please see Ms Webster. There will be a $10 cost to this to cover materials. Limited space so get your names in ASAP. The classes will run from 3:00- 4:45 each day.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB – Grades 7 – 9 will begin today.  This club will run every Tuesday after school from 3:05-4:00pm, for 6 weeks.  The last session will be Tuesday, June 5th.  Students are expected to bring their own camera to get the full experience, but to make sure the camera is locked securely in their locker throughout the day or given to their homeroom teacher for safe keeping.  They do not need a camera to participate if they don’t mind sharing with other students.  Students are not permitted to use their phones as cameras.  If interested in participating in this club, please sign the sign up sheet outside of Mme Gallaway’s classroom (Room 701 in the grade 7 wing) by Friday, April 27th.  Please see Mme Gallaway if you have any questions.

 COMPUTER SCIENCE CAMP – If any students are interested in taking part in a free computer science camp at UPEI in May/June, you can pick up an information sheet in the envelope posted outside Mme.Deveau’s door.

Westwood Community Flea Market – Vendors Wanted!

Westwood Primary in Cornwall is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a community Flea Market on Saturday May 5th, 2018 from 9am – 1pm at our school (80 Meadowbank Road).  Admission will be $2 a person (children under 12 are free).  We will also be hosting a BBQ and have other food items to purchase.  We are looking for vendors to sell either your used goods or commercial items.  Tables can be rented for $15 (or 2 for $25).  Vendor set up will be from 7:30am-9am on Saturday morning.  To book your table, please contact Terra Doucette (902) 368-6855.  For Westwood families, you can reserve your table using our school hot lunches program.  Tables must be booked by April 30th.  All proceeds from this event will go towards Westwood Primary initiatives.  Let your Spring cleaning commence!

 Bluefield High School Students are here this morning and will be visiting our grade 9 homerooms.

Congratulations to the Red Mudd girls volleyball team on winning the Silver Medal at the Provincial U14 girls volleyball championships over the weekend. A total of 22 teams participated in the tournament. Thanks East Wiltshire for all your help!

Coach Katie Donahoe would like to encourage all eligible athletes to come and try-out for the U17 Women’s Provincial Team. All athletes born in 2001 and later are eligible. There are also up to two positions open to athletes born in 2000. The team will compete in various Eastern Canadian tournaments this spring and summer, including the National U17 Championships being held in Fredericton, NB August 6-11. The tryout schedule is as follows:

Try-out #1 – Wed, Apr 18th, 6-7pm at Charlottetown Rural

Try-out #2 – Fri, Apr 20th, 7-9pm at Charlottetown Rural

 Westwood Community Flea Market – Vendors Wanted!

Westwood Primary in Cornwall is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a community Flea Market on Saturday May 5th, 2018 from 9am – 1pm at our school (80 Meadowbank Road).  Admission will be $2 a person (children under 12 are free).  We will also be hosting a BBQ and have other food items to purchase.  We are looking for vendors to sell either your used goods or commercial items.  Tables can be rented for $15 (or 2 for $25).  Vendor set up will be from 7:30am-9am on Saturday morning.  To book your table, please contact Terra Doucette (902) 368-6855.  For Westwood families, you can reserve your table using our school hot lunches program.  Tables must be booked by April 30th.  All proceeds from this event will go towards Westwood Primary initiatives.  Let your Spring cleaning commence!
