 **The library will be closed all day Friday, April 20th due to Grade 10 Registration.

  School Dance on April 26th @ 7:00pm, cost is $5.00.

 The theme will be Hawaiian  “The Luau”

 PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB – Grades 7 – 9 will begin Tuesday, May 1st.  This club will run every Tuesday after school from 3:05-4:00pm, for 6 weeks.  The last session will be Tuesday, June 5th.  Students are expected to bring their own camera to get the full experience, but to make sure the camera is locked securely in their locker throughout the day or given to their homeroom teacher for safe keeping.  They do not need a camera to participate if they don’t mind sharing with other students.  Students are not permitted to use their phones as cameras.  If interested in participating in this club, please sign the sign up sheet outside of Mme Gallaway’s classroom (Room 701 in the grade 7 wing) by Friday, April 27th.  Please see Mme Gallaway if you have any questions.

 HOCKEY ACADEMY MEETING – There will be a short 5 minute meeting for grade 7 & 8 members only today – 3rd period. Cafeteria extension.

 Intermediate Boys Doubles meet at East Wiltshire:

 Bantam Boys Doubles meet at Queen Charlotte:

 No Bantam girls finished in the top 4.  The top two advance to Provincials.

 The finals for Intermediate girls and boys will be held here at EWS after school today Starting at 3:30.  Competing for the boys will be Aiden Pot, and for the girls will be Hayden Ford, Torey MacDonald and Adelle Breau.

  The Finals for the Bantam boys and Girls will be held at Queen Charlotte starting at 3:30.  Competing for the girls will be Olivia Pot and for the boys will be Chris MacDougall.

 Also, the wrestling Provincials will be held at Col. Gray tomorrow Evening.  A notice will be going out to participants today with information.  Athletes will be traveling by bus, but will need to be picked up.

  WRESTLING -. Provincials are Friday evening at Colonel Gray.

 GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL – There will be tryouts Friday after school until 5pm.

 The Dental Preventive Clinic will be at starting at East Wiltshire School in late April 2018.
Purpose of Dental Clinic: Screen children to assess risk of oral disease; provide oral health education, topical fluoride, scaling/polishing and sealants, according to your child’s individual needs.
Screening: All children will be seen for a two-minute screening to determine their risk of oral disease. If you do not wish your child to have this dental screening, please notify the school secretary or homeroom teacher.
Consent: After the screening, all children will be given a consent form which will be necessary for you to complete and return before services are provided. Fees: There is no cost involved as the preventive services are covered by the Children’s Dental Care Program.  Contact: If you have any questions about the program, please contact the dental staff at the School or the Dental Public Health Clinic in Charlottetown at 902-368-4918 or Summerside 902-888-8145. Further Information: Please note that only preventive services will be provided and the screening is not a substitute for an annual dental examination. Westwood Community Flea Market – Vendors Wanted!

Westwood Primary in Cornwall is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a community Flea Market on Saturday May 5th, 2018 from 9am – 1pm at our school (80 Meadowbank Road).  Admission will be $2 a person (children under 12 are free).  We will also be hosting a BBQ and have other food items to purchase.  We are looking for vendors to sell either your used goods or commercial items.  Tables can be rented for $15 (or 2 for $25).  Vendor set up will be from 7:30am-9am on Saturday morning.  To book your table, please contact Terra Doucette (902) 368-6855.  For Westwood families, you can reserve your table using our school hot lunches program.  Tables must be booked by April 30th.  All proceeds from this event will go towards Westwood Primary initiatives.  Let your Spring cleaning commence!

East Wiltshire School Grade 7 Band Entrance Listening Activity Schedule Change

EWS Grade 7 Band Entrance Listening Activity Schedule change

Students who wish to be in the band program at East Wiltshire School in grade 7 in September need to participate in a listening activity in the EWS Band Room to be considered for the program. Due to Tuesday’s storm cancellation the scheduled times for the listening activity have been changed. The three times you may choose from are now as follows:

Wednesday, April 18, at 3:30 PM OR 7:00 PM in the East Wiltshire Band room.
Thursday, April 19, at 3:30 PM in the East Wiltshire Band room.

Students only have to go to ONE of the three times listed. If you have questions or concerns, please email Frank Nabuurs, Band Teacher at East Wiltshire School, fanabuurs@edu.pe.ca or telephone him at 902-368-4130 ext 232.
