 Bluefield Musical:  Our school is attending Camp Rock, the Musical tomorrow! The grade seven and eight classes will be leaving for Bluefield at 9:00 and will return around 11:30. So everyone needs to be on time and ready to go!

Grade nine will be leaving at 12:15 and returning at 2:45. Be sure to get your $8.00 in to your homeroom teacher if you haven’t yet. You don’t want to miss this!

INTRAMURALS: Today will be full court basketball. Sign up at the beginning of your lunch to play.

 PARENT INFORMATION MEETING FOR INCOMING GRADE 10 (OUR CURRENT GRADE 9’S) AT BLUEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL TONIGHT @ 7:00pm. 

The Dental Preventive Clinic will be at starting at East Wiltshire School in late April 2018.
Purpose of Dental Clinic: Screen children to assess risk of oral disease; provide oral health education, topical fluoride, scaling/polishing and sealants, according to your child’s individual needs.
Screening: All children will be seen for a two-minute screening to determine their risk of oral disease. If you do not wish your child to have this dental screening, please notify the school secretary or homeroom teacher.
Consent: After the screening, all children will be given a consent form which will be necessary for you to complete and return before services are provided. Fees: There is no cost involved as the preventive services are covered by the Children’s Dental Care Program.  Contact: If you have any questions about the program, please contact the dental staff at the School or the Dental Public Health Clinic in Charlottetown at 902-368-4918 or Summerside 902-888-8145. Further Information: Please note that only preventive services will be provided and the screening is not a substitute for an annual dental examination.  PROVINCIAL SCIENCE FAIR – Congratulations to Harmony Wills, Anna Jackson, Payton Smith and Meaghan Runge for doing a great job of representing EWS at the Provincial Science Fair before March Break. Results were as follows:

Harmony Wills – 4 specialty awards and an honorable mention in the junior division

Anna Jackson – 1 specialty award and honorable mention in the junior division

Payton Smith – 6 specialty awards

Meaghan Runge – 1 specialty award

Special mention to former EWS student Sophie MacDonald who won best in fair and will represent PEI at the Canada wide science fair in Ottawa in May.

1. Registration is open for the PEI Home and School Federation’s 65th Annual General Meeting, April 14, 2018.

Annual General Meetings Details | Register Online | Review the proposed Policy Resolutions

Any parent, guardian, teacher, administrator or staff person at any PEIHSF member school is invited to the meeting with each member school appointing five (5) individuals to attend as voting delegates. Membership fees must be paid to allow voting privileges to voting delegates. Ensure that your Home & School is represented at the AGM. School Crossing Guard of the Year Award: This award recognizes a school crossing guard on Prince Edward Island for their service in keeping our walking students safe.

 Welcome to Kindergarten Program

  1. The Welcome to Kindergarten Program is designed to help prepare preschoolers for a positive start to their school journey. Parents and their children attend spring Welcome to Kindergarten orientation sessions at their schools, where they receive early learning and literacy resources and learn how to use them at home.
